A wet weather plan built around flexibility rather than trying to force a sunny day itinerary.
Do not fill every wet hour
Rain changes the value of a lake destination. The goal is not to replace every outdoor minute with an indoor attraction. Choose one sheltered anchor and stay flexible.
Use the castle or a long meal as the anchor
If visibility is reasonable, the castle can still be atmospheric. A long lunch, spa or café stop gives the day structure without forcing you through bad weather.
Watch the dry windows
Keep one lakeside walk or viewpoint flexible. Short weather breaks are often enough for the lake to feel worth the trip.
Move only if the forecast is genuinely better
Bohinj and Kranjska Gora have their own weather patterns, but do not spend the whole day driving after a patch of blue on an app.
If this is a proposal or photography day
Have a private backup plan instead of publishing or relying on one exact outdoor location.
